Wonderful view alongside the rivers. Seating outside was nice, but you’d better get an inside table if coming for dinner or late lunch. Tasteful food and desert. A must visit if you’re in town. Staff very friendly.

Great ambience with a view of the city. Especially in the evening when it is dark, very nice. The food was really good and the staff very friendly. Due to a larger group at the next table, it was very noisy, but it was a nice evening and the restaurant gets 5 * from me.

Food was excellent as well the service. Amazing location with a view across Passau. It was a bit too cold in the middle of October here, however.

Great food. Great views. Staff spoke a little english so it made ordering easier. Only seating outside due to Covid restrictions. Visited about 3 weeks ago. Ordered salmon and it was very good. Had a little surprise friend with my meal I wasn't expecting.

We popped in so much for dessert was great coffee also recommendable everything ok.

Food was excellent. Prices are based on the location. My Viennese veal schnitzel cost 19 euros which I think is fine. Normally I would have given five stars, but when we went out to take photos (2 minutes) my still 1/4 full wheat beer was cleared and the table was already prepared for the next guests even though we left our backpack and jacket at the table. It wasn't very busy either, so the table should have been cleared quickly. Otherwise highly recommended. Parking lot right in front of the door.

The view is beautiful. My partner ordered a meat dish and I ordered a large salad. The meat was unfortunately through instead of medium, but still tasty. A small side salad was put on the table with the meat. When asked, I was told something had gone wrong and I immediately got the right salad for me. After 20 minutes I asked again ... 3/4 of an hour finally came the right one. Even though we hadn't touched the side salad (which was not ordered by us), we were charged for it.

We were spontaneously eating up there after our civil ceremony and had a wonderful view of the old town, but also a super delicious and typically Bavarian meal, which was visually modern. There was also a surprise sparkling wine thanks to the attentive service.

Most unfriendly and unwelcoming host we've ever incountered. She was extremly rude and wouldn't let us stand and wait another minute for a table infront of the view that was clearly freeing up. We then asked another waitress, as the table cleared up a minute later, and the first hostess aggressively intervened and declined. We felt extremely unwelcomed and decided to leave. I guess being popular for your location means you can get away with bad service

The terrace is becoming more and more beautiful (if it is still possible at all), the food is good (but this time we didn't really have a chance to evaluate the whole thing), the service “this time” friendly and authentic. The Munich brewery is a matter of taste, I think Augustiner is more of a boring beer with a thin body and way too much sweetness, but that doesn't belong in here.

Have been there a few times and it's always a pleasure. At the moment there is no reservation (Corona) but we arrived, waited about 5 minutes and got a table with a view. The staff is extremely friendly and quick. Food excellent as always. (Fried chicken to put in). Price-performance ratio is completely okay.

I cannot share my dining experience as we were not encouraged at all to get seated at this establishment, although we were willing to wait for a table and other clients were just let in after waiting. First there was a very polite waiter that was willing to get us a table but then another person came, looked carefully at our constellation - a family of five travelling through Europe, three kids of ten, ten and five, and said there was no table neither for today, nor for tomorrow. As we are very good clients, and we have seen a lot of good restaurants, his attitude was utterly disappointing, in particular as we found this restaurant in the Michelin guide that we regularly use. I would not recommend the place to families that do not look the part of this establishment with apparently quite superficial standards. Best find another place.

The view and furnishings deserve 5 stars, unfortunately the staff was completely overwhelmed, cutlery was a long time coming, not to mention the ashtray ... Should be fetched full from the next table ... Main course unfortunately only OK. Dessert could save something.

We ate wonderfully there, the food was excellent. The staff was super nice and friendly. Spent a few nice hours there with our children. When the weather was great, we sat outside on the terrace with an amazing view of Passau.

Amazing restaurant with the best overview of Passau's old part of the city.

The taste of the food was very good and the portion was very large. Unfortunately it was hard to bear outside because of the MANY wasps. The view was simply terrific, beautiful view over the whole of Passau.

The view was the best. Arrived OK, at the begging quite nice. We ordered and delivery was quick. We were outside and the day turned cloudy so we kindly asked if the could open the big umbrella to cover us in case of rain. We were with a 3 months old baby. They never came to open it and they just stated later that they could not open it for security reasons. Started to rain and none came to open the umbrella or to bring us inside when there were many free places. A waitress came and she asked us to pay instead helping us moving inside. We were forced to pay and none from the service helped us to move the dishes and drinks inside, very rude. Later on the food causes me and my girlfriend quite intense stomachache. The schweinbraten was very dry. In general very bad impression for so posh place. Probably it was my experience but staff like this doesn’t deserve any additional tip.

Great view, great food, good prices, unfortunately our server had almost zero interest in making us feel welcome or giving good service. Rest of the staff where great so I would go just avoid the the guy with the attitude.

Nice views from there

A wonderful place to stay. Unfortunately you could only eat inside, which was a shame in the great weather. It was crazy loud there and at some point we literally fled. The food, however, was delicious and very recommendable.

Had a very bad experience with my family. As requested, we waited in the entrance area to be assigned a table. We were allowed to choose a table in the beer garden. We sat at a table with a reserved sign (reservation from 5:00 p.m., it was already 5:45 p.m.). We were then asked by the waitress to leave the table, as this is for the boss. I ask myself, what kind of boss is it who first comes 45 minutes late and then adjusts the table for a clientele (who brings in money)? The only luck this boss has with his workforce is the great view of Passau. He could also sell dog food in his shop, you would come just for the view. Such behavior would not stand a chance in a rural restaurant. We will not visit this store again. P.S. I gave it a star because otherwise I could not send the post.

Very good food and a wonderful view! Were served nicely and felt in good hands! Prices are a bit higher than the average but not overpriced - definitely appropriate for the fresh and high quality ingredients! Will certainly come more often from now on!

We celebrated new years eve at the Oberhaus. Great food, very friendly and welcoming staff, perfect view over the city of Passau.

Fantastic view and food

Great ambience and nice overlook of the city.

I’ve been here twice on 2 separate trips to Passau. The views are phenomenal of the river valley below and that along with good food, strong drinks and swift service make this a must visit locale if you have a car or other means to get to the top of the hill Das Oberhaus is set upon. The outdoor patio that looks out on Passau is also highly recommended during the warmer months. Thankfully, even during the colder seasons plenty of big windows allow guests to enjoy the views both by day and night.

Great restaurant with excellent views of Passau and the neighboring areas. Highly recommend for the food and drink and the view. My wife and I went here with other faculty from the university, and are really glad we took them up on the offer. Excellent assortment of traditional Bavarian dishes and local delicacies. Good service and friendly staff.

Magnificent view over a lovely city, beside an awe inspiring castle, and with delicious food served by pleasent staff, a place everyone who's passing by should visit.

Unfortunately not as nice as the Gault Millau describes it. Maybe we went there on a bad day, but the service was not very friendly nor attentive. The waitress seemed bored and uninterested, but one server tried to be nice. The food we ordered was ok, but somehow made without enthusiasm. The view and the location are very attractive of course, you have a stunning view on Passau from the hill and the castle.
